AI-ready WordPress development
Your website was built for people. Now AI agents are starting to shop, compare and book for them. We add WebMCP to your existing WordPress or WooCommerce site, so compatible AI agents can find your products and services through clear, safe tools.

“Find me a lightweight running shoe under $100.”
search_products({ category: "running-shoes", max_price: 100, tag: "lightweight" })The problem
Most websites are built for clicking and scrolling. An AI agent has to read the layout, guess which button does what and hope nothing moves. Structured tools give it a clear, predictable way in.
How WebMCP works
Your theme, plugins, WooCommerce setup, forms and data, and which actions matter to your customers.
Product search, service lookup, FAQs or booking options become clearly named tools with checked inputs and permissions.
When a visitor uses a browser agent that supports WebMCP, it can find your tools and use them inside the limits you set.
WebMCP runs in the visitor’s browser on your page. It is not the same as a remote MCP server, which AI apps reach over the internet. See the comparison below.

What’s possible depends on your plugins, your data and what you allow. These are typical starting points.
Search the catalog by price, size or colour, and check stock before a shopper picks.
Find the right service, answer common questions and prepare a quote request.
Show services and open time slots. Bookings are confirmed only through your approved booking flow.
Filter listings by area, price and bedrooms, and prepare a viewing request.
Look up rooms, tours or packages and check availability for given dates.
Search courses, start dates and entry requirements, and prepare an enquiry.
Search articles, browse categories and return published FAQs with links.
Match a visitor to the right practice area and collect the details your team needs.
What UnlockLive delivers
What your site could offer agents today, and what it would take.
Theme, plugins, WooCommerce, booking and form tools, REST API and hosting.
Tool names, descriptions, inputs, outputs and which ones need confirmation.
Tools registered in the page with the WebMCP API, plus form markup where it fits.
Tools read your real data through the REST API or WooCommerce Store API.
A small, maintained plugin when no existing plugin fits your workflow.
Permission checks, validation, rate limits and confirmation for sensitive actions.
Tested in browsers that support WebMCP, with a normal fallback for all others.
What each tool does, how to change it and how to switch it off.
A separate service for assistants like Claude or ChatGPT that connect without a browser.
They solve different problems. Many businesses start with WebMCP for visitors on the site and add an MCP server later.
| Browser-native WebMCP | Remote MCP server | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it runs | In the visitor’s browser, on your web page | On a server, reached over the internet |
| Who uses it | AI agents built into or added to the browser | AI apps and assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT connectors |
| Sign-in | Uses the visitor’s existing browser session | Needs its own sign-in, usually OAuth |
| Best for | Helping visitors while they are on your site | Letting AI apps use your data without opening the site |
| Status in 2026 | Early: Chrome origin trial, other browsers not yet | Widely supported by AI apps |
A generic plugin exposes standard posts and products. That’s a fine start. Your customers ask about your rules: delivery areas, bulk prices, booking limits. We design tools around those, connect your other plugins and keep sensitive actions behind the visitor’s approval.
WooCommerce AI-agent readiness
When an agent can call a product search tool instead of reading category pages, it gets real prices, variations and stock. That makes its answers more dependable, and the shopper stays in charge of the cart.
“Lightweight running shoe under $100, size 10.”
Calls search_products with price, size and category.
Real names, prices, variations and stock from your store.
Short list with links back to your product pages.
Adding to the cart happens only after the shopper says yes.
We don’t promise automatic purchases, more sales or support from every AI shopping assistant. We make your store’s data clear and safe for the agents that support WebMCP.
Our implementation process
We review your site, plugins and hosting, and test what agents can already do.
You get: a short readiness report
From you: a 30-minute call and admin or staging access if needed
We agree which actions are worth offering to agents, and which must stay off limits.
You get: a tool list with permissions
From you: one review meeting
We build the tools on a staging copy of your site, reusing your plugins where possible.
You get: working tools on staging
From you: answers to questions about your rules
Permission, input, rate-limit and browser tests, plus checks that nothing changes for normal visitors.
You get: a test report
From you: sign-off on staging
We go live, watch the logs and keep the tools working as browsers and plugins change.
You get: docs and handover
From you: pick a support plan or take it in-house
Timings are typical for a small or mid-size site and are confirmed in your quote.

We keep these apart on purpose. WebMCP is new, and nobody can promise how fast AI browsers will adopt it.
Security and trust
We never expose admin functions or customer data without the right login and permission.
Tools that need an account use the visitor’s existing WordPress or WooCommerce login. No new passwords.
Every tool checks WordPress permissions on the server, the same way your site already does.
Each tool can do one job. No admin functions, no customer lists, no order history for strangers.
Custom endpoints use WordPress permission callbacks and nonces.
Every input has a type, length and allowed values, and is checked again on the server.
Limits per visitor and per tool, so a busy or misbehaving agent can’t overload your site.
WebMCP needs a secure page, and all data travels encrypted.
Bookings, cart changes and form sends are marked as sensitive and wait for the visitor.
Tool calls are logged without personal data and covered by automated tests.
We build alongside your plugins, test on staging first and can switch tools off in one step.
FAQ
WebMCP (Web Model Context Protocol) is a proposed web standard that lets a website offer named tools, such as “search products”, to AI agents running in the browser. Instead of reading the screen and clicking, the agent calls the tool and gets clean data back. Google and Microsoft are developing it in the W3C Web Machine Learning Community Group.
More people are starting to use AI agents to shop, compare and book. With WebMCP, a compatible agent can use your site through clear tools instead of guessing its way through the page. It is early, so the main reasons today are being ready and keeping control over what agents can do.
Yes. WooCommerce already has product, price, stock and cart data available through its APIs, so it is one of the best fits. Typical tools search products, return details and variations, and prepare cart actions that the shopper confirms.
No. WebMCP is added to your existing WordPress site, usually through a small plugin and some JavaScript. Your theme, content and plugins stay as they are, and normal visitors see no change.
No. WebMCP tools are used by AI agents in a browser while they are on your site. Showing up inside ChatGPT, Claude or other assistants is a different thing. A remote MCP server or an app connector can help there, and we offer that as a separate service.
No. Traditional (remote) MCP runs on a server that AI apps connect to over the internet. WebMCP runs inside your web page in the visitor’s browser and uses their existing session. They share ideas, such as tools with defined inputs, but they are set up and secured differently.
Not yet. As of October 2026, WebMCP is available in Chrome as an origin trial and behind a flag for testing. Other browsers have not announced support. We build it so that browsers without WebMCP simply ignore it.
Only if you allow it, and only with the visitor’s approval. We mark sending forms, changing carts and booking as sensitive actions, so the browser or agent asks the visitor first. We do not build tools that complete payments on their own.
It can be, when it is built carefully. Tools only do what your site already allows the visitor to do, permission checks still run on your server, and inputs are validated. The risks are the same as any web feature, so we design, test and log each tool.
Yes. Most valuable tools are specific to your business, such as a quote calculator, a stock check across warehouses or a booking rule. We build them as a small custom plugin with tests and documentation.
There is no evidence that WebMCP affects search rankings, and we don’t promise it will. It helps AI agents use your site, which is different from being found in search. Good content, speed and structured data still matter for SEO.
It depends on how many tools you need and how complex your plugins and data are. A simple content-only setup is a small project. WooCommerce or booking work takes longer. The audit is free, and you get a fixed quote before any work starts.
Sometimes. Plugins such as WebMCP Bridge offer ready-made read-only tools for posts and WooCommerce products. They are a good start for simple sites. When you need your own rules, approvals or other plugins connected, custom tools work better, and we can build on top of an existing plugin.
WebMCP is still changing. In 2026 the API moved from navigator.modelContext to document.modelContext, for example. We follow the specification and Chrome releases, and support plans include updating your tools when the standard or browsers change.
