Frequently asked questions

Can you see my Next.js version from outside?

Not reliably, and that is fine. The checker detects Next.js and whether it uses the App Router or Pages Router, and checks hosting, HTTPS and security headers. The report explains how to check the exact version.

How do I check my Next.js version?

Run npm ls next (or pnpm list next / yarn why next) in your project, look at the next entry in package.json and your lock file, or run npx next info.

Why does the Next.js version matter for security?

Next.js has had serious security advisories that only a version update fixes. For example, the 2025 middleware authorization bypass (CVE-2025-29927) was fixed in 15.2.3, 14.2.25, 13.5.9 and 12.3.5. Stay on the latest patch of your major version.

Is my Next.js site visible to AI assistants?

Server-rendered and static Next.js pages are easy for AI crawlers to read. Pages that build their text only in the browser are not. Our free AI search checker shows what AI sees on your site.

What happens with my email and website?

We email you a code to confirm your address, then your report. Your email, website and result go to our team and CRM so an engineer can help, and we may occasionally email you about your website; you can unsubscribe at any time. We do not share your details with anyone else.
